What a CHANGING world!

November 17th, 2007 by applemin80

Everyday, everything can remind us time is flying by so fast.

An invitation card for a classmate’s wedding ceremony,A friend’s new born baby, a nice dress that can no longer fit in :(, a glance over past years’ blogs, an old song, an extra kilo, a gift, a dream, a movie……an invitation card for a classmate’s second wedding ceremony…..faint. …

Pavarotti is gone…the ‘triad’  now only have two left….
Schumacher it retired….
together with him, got retired is Greenspan.  Such a huge name, now is gone from newspapers….
张国荣 left us on a stupid day…
梅艳芳 is gong

But these are not enough! Here you go another shocking news, and it is one of the most shocking ones in these years——A sexual transformed friend! What d h…

Yup yup, it is. He transformed into a gal! what’s wrong with you Libra ppl?  such a nice guy, funny, cute and a great dancer. Now…..i would not say he is a guy, and also not a gal! The viewing of this just delivered the picture was totally a haunted experience. But I would not say it’s bad…..becos it is a good friend. However, i can feel the burning sensation in my stomach and it last for pretty a while. hu~

what a changing world! And it changes too fast!

How Much Did Things Cost in 1964?

How Much Did Things Cost in 1964?

Harvard was pricey!

Item Price
Four-bedroom, two-bath house in South Bend, Indiana $16,000
“Penthouse view” in doorman building on East 69th Street, Manhattan $245 per month
Hershey chocolate bar $0.05
Steak dinner at the Palm in Manhattan $8
Fruit of the Loom boxer shorts $0.69
Ford Mustang, starting price $2,358
Rental car, Ford Falcon $5 per day
DeBeers one carat diamond $500 to $1,800
One year’s tuition at Harvard $2,400
One year’s tuition at Syracuse University $750
Ticket to “Goldfinger” with Sean Connery $1

Fast forward to today…

Harvard tuition at over $31,000 a year…other listed items are  not sure.

Inflation is tame today, but its effects sneak up after a long period of time (like grey hair and extra kgs). So it’s just natural for us to want to keep up or outpace these changes.

With the purchasing power of the RMB eroding gradually with time, we
count on our work incomes to make up for this? noway. not mentioned, what happens when we
retire from stable jobs sometime in the distant future? :(

What can I do to cushion ourselves from the impact of inflation in the long term?

I found this quote from the Wikipedia quite telling:

Inflation is also viewed as a hidden risk pressure that
provides an incentive for those with savings to invest them, rather
than have the purchasing power of those savings erode through inflation.

so..investment plan is needed!

latest update…

June 23rd, 2007 by applemin80

yeah…have to update my journal. It has been a while since last time i expressed myself. As usual, many things happened, among them some are really remarkable!

first one is i started painting again, after so many years, and still, it feels so good! I still love the Lingnan style of the brush painting, especially James Tan’s pieces. his  pieces are great combination of traditional brush painting and European oil painting. they are so very much rich in colors, if not too colorful, so that they make me feel he had it done with some sort of computer softwares >_<”’ ! …never mind, and i made a small piece today : ). Have to say, it is not bad, in fact, I shall hang it somewhere in the office, it looks so traditional Chinese!

another thing looks good now is i playing badminton with steven at times, and finally i found something both of us can do! i wonder…before what did we do on our dates? as what i can recall, more or less same as now. eating, walking, watching movies…but why it feels different now? now tastes like the remaining of a juiced sugarcane!-_-” well, finger cross, doing something in common can work it out. but here another question is, i can do something new to me to make it work out, can he also do something, such as to know more about arts or to play basketball,to show his sincerities as well? negative!~!~!~!~!~!

the last, Wang lei now is finally a married man and his wife finally realized her dream. This could be the best ending of my book, if i did write this book, the book of our life stories. i have been thinking about this book for months, and still no constructive progress. because there is always a question, do you write for the market or for yourself. It’s hard to find a balance between these two. i dont want to sacrifice self-expression in publication, meanwhile the market dosent allow you to be too personal….aih…think too much, i may just write, then it’s fine.

i still have about 20 days before going for VACATION! but i still have two proposals to write, and 4 courses’ plans and 4 books ordering lists to make! and 5 kilos, or maybe 7, to lose! ah…ah…

getting better

May 28th, 2007 by applemin80

I have felt bad lately, because i had been caught by bad lucks for days. I falled down for twice in one week and twisted my ankle . And I felt stressful because there are so many things waiting for me to get done.

Well…it’s getting better….my place is cleaned up and all laundry  had been done. And finally i figured out how to access to the Internet with my laptop. Ha ha ha, finally i can make some works doen smoothly. And yeah….chating on line as well. I have to admit it’s a good way to get closer to friends far away and also a good way to be relaxed and happy. Em…nice day…What you can ask for more, if you had online chatting and with a cup of coffee in your hand?

Bah…time to do some serious on line shopping.

sassy, smart & single gal’s dairy…

May 23rd, 2007 by applemin80

Dear Diary,

I was chosen to represent
the all American single girl looking to meet Mr. Right. I think that’s a compliment.
Anyway, like anyone out there, I just want a good guy. You know, someone who
listens. Someone who’s fun. He’s got to be funny. Of course cute. Smart.
Sensitive. Responsible. Knows how to take care of himself (I don’t want to
get spiked by a toenail in the middle of the night).

Like, it’s okay if he’s
into things I’m not as long as there’s spooning. And I’d like it if would
dance with me. I’m sick of guys who don’t know how to cut loose. Pull out
the chair once in a while. Meet my family. Did I mention style? Pleated pants
& Flip Flops with socks are a big NO.

See, the whole misconception
is… because I want to find a real person AND a best friend as well
as a boyfriend, I won’t find someone who thrills me. …Like they’re mutually
    exclusive. I don’t buy it.

Oh yeah, and a good butt!!!

Okay, I’m off to be documented
in some stupid cartoon book. More later…

funny stuff :D ha ha ha…

something funny!

May 12th, 2007 by applemin80

NEWBALANCE。

再看包包,斜背包绝对占压倒性优势。常见的有贵妇背的LV大LOGO包包或是袖珍包;
ADIDAS/PUMA/OSISA等的复古运动包;PORETER/MK的日式单肩包;DIESEL/G-STAR的牛仔系列。

以前买《MEN’S
